Jungle Book Play

Well, Kilee and Kandon were able to audition and get into the Missoula Children's Theater One week production The Jungle Book. Their program is where You audition on Monday and the show is Friday night.

Kandon was the long haired monkey who stole little Mowgli away and tried to convince him/(played by a girl) to teach them fire. He did well and really did a good job acting like a crazy monkey.

Kilee was able to get a good part as a Wolfy the wolf pup, who got stolen by Sheer Kan the tiger. She did better than mom expected as she keep a loud voice on stage. We were lucky to be front and center so we were able to hear it all.

Kandon enjoyed it so much he decided not to wash his face as mom asked him to. He somehow managed to shower and wash without washing his face. Wish he was as devoted to his chores. I'm just glad he had fun.

Kilee was worried that her makeup wouldn't look good and she wouldn't want to go on stage, but being first turned out to be ok cause the main professional guy did her makeup and it looked great. Makeup sure made her be able to transform into Wolfy the wolf pup.

Well, from Kandon being in last years Princess and The Pea in Hawaii, to this year's Jungle Book, we can't wait to see what comes next year. Kowen asked, but was denied bc of age 2 years in a row, hopefully next year he will be able to perform. Bring it on!

Dog Heaven

The simplest way to a dogs heart is peanut butter. Normally we try not to give the dog anything bc she usually doesn't eat her food for days waiting on scraps. But Kilee handed her the empty PB jar that kept her busy for an hour no joke. We finally gave in to this dog who is smart enough to bring the jar over to us several times to help her get the rest out. She would bump our legs and follow us around to get us to help. Finally we gave in and cut the jar so she could enjoy the rest. Dog heaven for even a little bit.

The simple things in life are definately free if you are willing to work for it and wait for it. Even for a dog.

Monster Jam Trucks

Last week we were able to go to the Monster Jam Truck Show. Yes I am female, but this was on my to do list. It was fun to see the different styles, sizes, and stunts. The best of course were the freestyle, where almost all trucks flipped over and crashed at the end.

We were able to touch the Air Force Monster Truck and get pics with the Driver, who actually won some of the races at the show.

We were able to get decent sideline seats, and were so thrilled when they turned out to be in the shadey side. Woo-Hoo. Thank goodness, bc we were sweating in the shade. The kids got flags, shirts and food. We didn't realize til she had it on and walked away, but Kilee's Grave Digger shirt has a big cross on the back. We don't normally strut crosses, focussing more on Christ's resurrection so although fine, was a little weird for mom. Kowen of course pitched a fit bc he couldn't have the stuffed toy and his shirt was too big. Oh well. Sleeping in it anyways.

It would have been better if the guy behind us didn't take his shirt off and wear short white shorts that looked like underwear and smoked more than 4 cigarettes, polite as he was to say sorry when he blew smoke but still. Kowen surprised us and got bored early. Could have been the same racing events for one hr, but he liked the end when things flipped and caught a little fireworks. In the end I am glad we went, but I expected more excitement for the price.

Thanks for the adventure though.

Sweet Home Alabama

Well our trip to Alabama went well. Although the humidity was horrible, we were able to attend the beach, water play at mall and visit many times with cousins. While at the water play, Kilee enjoyed making designs and spelling her name with water. Of course it dried up in minutes and she had plenty of canvas space.

Kowen was Kowen, and enjoyed the water however and whereever as long as it cooled him off.

Kandon enjoyed making faces and trying to help us keep their cousins entertained.

We had fun, but are glad to be out of so much humidity. We still laugh at anyone who complains about the heat here as we supposedly go through a heat wave of 95 or so. Yes it is hot, but goodness the humidity is so much less. Thank goodness.

The drive was ok. I got 4 movies and they watched them all, played their D.S.'s and well Kowen threw up, but all was well.

The drive back was not so exciting and seemed much longer, but we actually got there sooner than planned.

Life goes on as we try to get ready for school. We can't believe it starts in a little over a week. We are trying to get Kowen into early entrance Kindergarden bc in this particular part of Ohio they decided to change the Sept. 30 cut off to Aug. 1st. That is why I had him on the 30th oh well. I'm sure he will pass.

Lots of love to family, Guess it will be next year when we meet up again. Unless you like the snow. Love ya.
