Well, Mother's Day came and went. Little Kowen fell asleep before we could make our song video card that we send to everyone, so we had a fill in. Thanks Bella.
We enjoyed Kowen's Kindergarten program. He worked so hard and we enjoyed listening to him sing in the shower for weeks. Kowen is in the green surfer outfit, and the boy in the blue to the right was a hoot as he danced crazily, but at least he did something. The boy behind him had his hands in his pants the whole time and just rocked back and forth. Kids are a joy, sometime and we were so proud of him.
Time to toss our Easter eggs again. They really need to practice their aim.
Kandon improved in his hitting, and enjoyed baseball this year. Dad was able to be an extra coach helper for both teams. It involved running from one field to another, but he enjoyed the experience.
This was Kandon's 9th birthday cake. He had Angry Bird games of shooting sling shots at balloons, throwing plates into hoola hoops
We went on a hike with the scouts and brought along some girls from the neighborhood too. There were more stairs in nature that I liked, but at least my butt got a work out.
Sesame Street came to town and they got light up toys and bandanas and a show.
Kowen wore it correctly some times.
And he wore it like a girl bonnet at others. We tried not to laugh at him so much, but it was just so cute. Pioneer Kowen walked and walked and walked to the store like that.
This is a hat we found at the thrift store for dad. We thought he could use it when playing swords and boxing. Mom was very surprised that he even put it on.
Kandon finds a smile in his cereal one morning and it just had to be documented.
This is a picture of Babe Ruth Kandon at his famous person book report where the whole fourth grade participated and then the whole school and any parents who wanted to come walked around and asked everyone questions. He did well. His out fit was thrift store shirts, karate pants, and hat. We drew stripes with permanent marker. Dad did the pants and took twice as long as mom and Kandon's shirt, but it does look better. He use his old soccer socks that were a real pain to stretch onto his feet, but I think it turned out great.
Kilee has mowed one neighbors yard 2 or 3 times, but that was the only neighbor to allow her to do so. She didn't make much money at that job, so we went down to grandpa's and earned just a little bit more. Oh well.
He's not in tee-ball anymore. He skipped and missed last year, but managed to do a swell job playing ball.
Dad gave him advise from the sidelines and even was a great third base coach. If only mom wasn't such a loud spectator. Just kidding.
I tried for that cute picture again. Not so well, maybe I can learn to touch them up one day.
It's picture day inside the hot, hot, hot gym. I mean who turned off the a.c. when tons of people are coming to take pictures. They were sweating before it was even their turn.
Kilee spent her time reading, once everyone was told many times to stop running up and down and across the bleachers. Oh well. Kids, bleachers, heat. It's not like you can enjoy sitting there unless you brought a book.
So, it was back to the thrift store again. I can't remember why we went there in the first place, but Kowen finds this on the rack and demands he get it. He loved it. It took mom a good while to convince him she was not going to buy it, ever. I know it was only a dollar and I could have just let him have it, but it just wasn't calling to me.
Well it was dentist check up time for all kids and although I expected Kilee to have a cavity, I never expected so many from all of them. Kilee had two, but she was smart and pulled out one of her baby teeth so she wouldn't have to get the filling done. Kandon also had his very first cavity ever, and his second. He did well, although he had to have mom come back and sit with him, he did not scream or cry or whine. Good job buckaroo. Kowen was the surprise of them all. Seven count that seven cavities. Well, Six bc one was a dark spot from the cavity in the tooth next to it, or something. He was such a trooper. He had to go back three times bc they couldn't give him so much meds and it was spread out all over his teeth. Luckily it is his baby teeth, only between all the teeth, and the insurance changed and we could finally get the tooth covered fillings. Yeah less metal. Poor Kilee has permanent metal fillings from last time, but this time she got the ceramic. Now on to her braces which mom can't decide between metal, ceramic, and invisaline. I don't have to hurry because she hasn't been wearing her retainer and it has taken longer than expected, well longer than the doc originally said, but mom knew there was no way four months of retainer was going to give her enough room to escape pulling teeth. But so far so good, the doc still says no teeth have to be pulled and we won 75 dollars in gas money from one of the orthodontist contests. So, we will just deduct that from Kilee's IOU, just kidding.
Life goes on as you can see. Lots to do and lots of places to go. It is on to Alabama, the beach, and visits with family. There is always more pictures to take and share. I just am so glad for modern technology of being able to go places, take pics, and remember them in color.
